Fracurs

Pronounced [Frak-errz] noun.

A pair of ridiculous shoes. They can take on many forms, but they have the common feature of being completely impractical. Ladies usually wear pairs of fracurs.
From the Latin fractura, meaning a fracture (usually of the ankle, leg or toe).

  1. I am so glad you are back from Edinburgh and posting again....it's been such a strain on me!
    Great word by the way.

  2. Those shoes would be wonderful for planting bulbs in the garden. Do they have little wheels on the ends, or are they round black rubber balls? I think they are the rubber balls and the repeated springing action is helping her develop very sturdy legs. I see (from the trouser clad legs near by) that she requires an assistant to be standing by at all times. I think Fracurs are most aptly named.

PS WV was "reter", which is rather like the product of a committee trying to decide how to begin my name (peter), and ending up with something symetrical.

  3. Those shoes would be a brilliant tool for bulb planting, they should sell them in those big garden centres. They could do a deal: "Buy 5 varieties, get your fracurs free!"
